One area of log home production
which has seen consistent growth over the
last few years is the increased emphasis
on additions to existing log homes. As many
Lok-N-Logs customers have found, the thought
of having their lifestyle needs change is
not a pleasant one. Sometimes, the choice
of building a new, and bigger log home is
simply not possible. Many of these homeowners
have turned to Lok-N-Logs to help them design
additions to their log homes - providing
the required extra living space without
the inconvenience and disruption caused
by moving.

The eye-catching log home
featured on this page is a fine example
of what can be accomplished by adding on
to an existing log home. What began as a
1,000 square foot weekend getaway from the
city for Mac and Christine Cadaret (it's
actually Lok-N-Logs standard Berkshire model)
has evolved, two additions later, into the
2,400 square foot primary resience for the
couple. As it became more and more difficult
to leave their log home week after week
to return to their apartment in the city,
they Cadarets made the only decision which
made sense to them. They moved permanently
to their log home - but needed more space.
The
first addition was the spectacular 24' x
28' family room area, shown here, which
was added to the rear elevation of their
Berkshire model creating a new "T" shaped,
ranch style home. Two years later, the couple
added their spacious 24' x 24' master bedroom
suite with its accompanying full front porch
completing the rambling, Southwestern style
spread. The unusual angle decided upon for
the connection of the master bedroom addition
to the main house created a very exciting
and appealing line for the expanded one
level home. Recently, they Cadarets have
turned their attention to the inside of
their log home. They have graciously agreed
to share the results of their redecorating
efforts with you, the potential Lok-N-Logs
homeowners.
As evidenced by Lok-N-Logs success in reconstructing
Fort Stanwix and Fort Wayne, we can adapt
our milling techniques to match most log
types, sizes and styles. This means that
we can help to design and manufacture additions
to any manufacturer's log homes - not just
for those customers who were fortunate enough
to choose Lok-N-Logs. If you are considering
adding on to your log home, talk to the
staff at Lok-N-Logs. We'll be glad to help.
